Description

Ingo Maurer originally designed Bibibibi as a wedding gift for a couple he was friendly with. To create it, he combined bird legs made of red plastic with a black metal shade and a porcelain plate that reflects the light. The inclination of the metal shade with the light bulb are adjustable. The white plate creates a pleasant indirect light. It is also a great spot to place small beautiful object that you do not want to lose sight of.

Ingo Maurer's design process began in a supermarket and ended in a design product called Bibibibi. The whole thing started when he was looking for a decoration for his car to drive to a wedding. Maybe an artificial stork. Storks are always appropriate for weddings. There are plastic storks in the supermarket. But they are sold out. Only one pair of bright red feet, the rest of a stork is still there. At least the feet! In the end, Bibibibi was born, a lamp of excellent design. It had its first success as a wedding gift. At the Milan fair it appeared as a serial product. However, as the result of an exemplary design process, the poor thing was waiting for the Designordonnanz award. Fortunately, Bibibibi had patience.
